The price of a 14.2 kg (LPG) cylinder has been increased by Rs 50 with effect from today. With the latest revision, the domestic cylinder will cost Rs 1103 per cylinder from today in Delhi as reported by the news agency ANI.
In Chennai, the new price of cooking gas would be Rs 1,118.50 per cylinder, and commercial, used in restaurants and industries, would be Rs 2,268.
Domestic LPG prices take cues from global prices and the prices are decided by the oil marketing companies. Prices have been stable over the last few months in the domestic category. With inflation already pinching consumers, a rise in the LPG prices would also be hard on consumers. This is the first time that we are seeing a revision in LPG prices since July 2022.
