Economic Survey, Budget 2024: Where And How To Watch And What Time?

The Finance Ministry has announced the details of where and when to watch both the Economic Survey and the Union Budget for 2024-25. While the economic survey will be presented by the Chief Economic Advisor (CEA) of India under FinMin, the Budget will be announced by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman. From Monday, July 22nd, the Parliamentary session of the Budget will begin.

Economic Survey 2024-25:

The survey will be tabled by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and is prepared by the Economic Division of the Department of Economic Affairs (DEA) under the Finance Ministry. Sitharaman will announce the survey at 01:00 PM, followed by a press conference by the Chief Economic Advisor (CEA) soon after on Monday, at the parliament.

CEA of India is currently V Anantha Nageswaran.

As per the FinMin's tweet on Elon Musk's X platform, the Economic Survey will be announced at 02.30 pm on July 22, 2024. FinMin said, "Watch Chief Economic Adviser to the Government of India, Dr V. Anantha Nageswaran's Press Conference on Economic Survey 2023-24."

Per the laws of Parliament, the reigning government should not present an Economic Survey in line with the interim Budget during an election year. Hence, the entire is scheduled to be given after the election, after the ruling party's government again forms and takes oath.

Union Budget 2024:

The full-fledged Union Budget for 2024-25 will be presented by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman On July 23. This Budget will be the first of Modi 3.0 after his government's third win in Lok Sabha Elections 2024.

The budget is presented every year in India on the first of February. As per Article 112 of the Indian Constitution, it is mandatory to announce the Budget before the Parliament before the start of a financial year which begins on April 1st and ends on March 31st.

The budget holds major significance in India as it aims to ensure social justice, equality and balanced economic growth. It is divided into two parts namely revenue and capital budget.
