Eid ul Adha 2024 Date, Time In India: Will Stock Market Remain Open On Bakrid?

The stock market in India remain closed on particular days in June 2024 as a result of national holidays or due to key festivals in India. In June 2024 in India, apart from the usual weekends, the stock market will observe only one holiday i.e. June 17, 2024. Stock market will remain closed on June 17 to celebrate Bakrid or Eid-Ul-Adha.

Eid ul Adha is a key festival for Muslims all over the world. The festival is popularly known as Bakrid in several parts of India. Based on these calculations, Monday June 17 will be observed as Eid ul Adha in India.

History & Significance Of Eid ul Adha: The history of Eid ul Adha dates back to Prophet Ibrahim. According to Holy Quran, Prophet Ibrahim, in his dream, saw Allah asking him to give sacrifice of his son in order to show his devotion and regard to his lord. Prophet Ibrahim obeyed Allah's instruction. And, as soon as he began to sacrifice his son, Allah intervened and recognized Prophet Ibrahim's full submission. Instead of his son, a lamb was given for sacrifice. Muslims, all over the world, offer an animal in the form of sacrifice on Eid ul Adha to show their devotion, love, and reverence to Allah.
