Elon Musk Dethrones Mark Zuckerberg To Become Third Richest Person Globally

Elon Musk, who heads Tesla and SpaceX, has very easily dethroned Mark Zuckerberg- Facebook co-founder to become the third richest person globally. Musk's combined wealth of close to $110 billion is on the back of gains in Tesla stock which added $7.6 billion over November 16 and 17 sessions as per the Bloomberg Billionaires Index.

The skyrocketing gains in the stock price of Tesla came following announcement of its addition in the S&P 500 Index. Basis its market value, upon entry into the benchmark index, Tesla will be among top 10 companies. S&P Dow Jones Indices said the electric car manufacturing company would be one of the largest companies included in S&P 500 in the last decade. Also, at the same time it said it is mulling inclusion of Tesla in two stages on December 14 and 21.

SpaceX, American aerospace manufacture and space transportation Services company, also successfully launched four astronauts into space for NASA on November 15.

In the year 2020 alone, Musk has added a wealth of $82.2 billion to his coffers and as per the report has been the biggest gainer among 500 wealthiest persons globally.
