Employee Arrested for Allegedly Stealing Rs 1.25 Crore in Cash and Jewellery from Delhi Businessman's Home
A personal security officer, Vikas Kumar, has been detained for allegedly stealing cash and jewellery valued at Rs 1.25 crore from his employer's residence in Greater Kailash, South Delhi, according to police reports. The businessman was abroad on vacation when Kumar devised the plan to commit the theft.

Upon returning home, the businessman discovered a broken locker and missing valuables. Deputy Commissioner of Police South, Ankit Chauhan, stated that approximately Rs 70 lakhs in cash and gold jewellery worth Rs 55 lakhs were stolen. A case was filed at the Greater Kailash Police Station, and teams were deployed to apprehend the suspect.
Investigation and Arrest
Authorities reviewed CCTV footage from nearby areas and observed an individual arriving by car and entering the house around 2 am on September 26. The complainant identified this person as his PSO, Vikas Kumar, originally from Baghpat, Uttar Pradesh. The businessman had employed Kumar three months prior to the incident.
Kumar was apprehended on Thursday, with the stolen items recovered from his residence in Baghpat. The vehicle used during the crime was also located there, confirmed DCP Chauhan. Another officer disclosed that Kumar aimed to lead a luxurious lifestyle and executed the robbery by scaling the house's terrace using a rope.
Details of the Crime
On the night of the robbery, Kumar disabled some CCTV cameras before entering but was still captured by cameras in nearby lanes. He broke into the house by tampering with locks after climbing onto the terrace. His actions were meticulously planned while his employer was away.
The police have charged Kumar under relevant theft sections and continue to investigate further details surrounding the incident. The swift identification and recovery of stolen goods highlight effective police work in this case.
