The president of Nascent Information Technology Employees Senate (NITES), Harpreet Singh Salujahas has warned tech giant Infosys of not hesitating to organize protests at its offices if the joining process of engineers are breached. Saluja's remarks come after a report stated that over 1,000 engineers freshers who received offer letters, will finally get to join the company after two years delay.
Through his Facebook account, Hardeep Singh Saluja said, "I am thrilled to announce that after relentless efforts and a formal complaint by Nascent Information Technology Employees Senate (NITES), Infosys has finally issued appointment letters to more than 1,000 (still counting) campus hires today. These young engineers, who have been waiting for nearly two years, now have a confirmed joining date of October 7, 2024. "

Saluja added that this is a huge win for NITES and all the students who stood strong in the face of uncertainty and delay.
However, he also said, "We remain vigilant... if Infosys fails to honor this commitment and breaches the joining date, we will not hesitate to organize a protest right in front of the Infosys office. Together, we are making a difference and ensuring that the voices of young professionals are heard loud and clear!."
The NITES president also shared an offer letter from a candidate for the role of Systems Engineer Trainee, receiving joining date of October 7, 2024, in the company.
Saluja also shed light on a report that Infosys misused input tax credits to pay Rs 3 crore less taxes. Through his X handler, he said, "Infosys is hiring more tax wizards than engineers these days. It seems Infosys has found a new way to Optimize profits by playing hide and seek with taxes. Ironically, the same company that's managing the nation's tax portal seems to be having a little trouble with its own taxes."
Earlier, the Economic Times reported that about 1,500 students from the April 2022 batch having offer letters, are seeking clarity on their job prospects after appearing for two rounds of pre-training in July and August.
Also, recently, in an interview with PTI, Infosys CEO Salil Parekh said the company is keen on acquisitions in areas like data analytics, SAAS, and may look at some geographies within Europe, and the US.
