Facebook, Google No Longer In The List Of Top 10 Workplaces
In the "Best Places to Work" in 2020 list compiled by Glassdoor, both Facebook and Alphabet's Google no longer feature in the top 10 workplaces. Facebook has dropped down from its last year's seventh rank to the 23rd spot and Google now enjoys the eleventh position.
Facebook has been awarded a rating of 4.4 out of 5 as against last year's 4.5. Employees have given comparably lower ratings to the company's work-life balance as well as senior leadership parameters. Further, the lower ranking for Facebook is also due to increased regulatory scrutiny of the world's leading social media platform.
The social media giant is confronting issues with respect to management of user data, plans on global digital currency named Libra and misinformation campaigns on the site. Nonetheless, employees continued to be positive about the company when it comes to career opportunities and compensation at Facebook, as per the Glassdoor survey report released on Tuesday.
Apple Inc bagged the 84th spot while another software company HubSpot ranked among the 100 best workplaces.
