Haryana Government Confirms Uninterrupted Supply of DAP Fertiliser for Farmers During Rabi Season

The Haryana government is ready to supply di-ammonium phosphate (DAP) for the Rabi season, according to Agriculture Minister Shyam Singh Rana. He assured that every acre will be cultivated with a steady supply of DAP fertiliser. The state plans to bring in 46,495 metric tonnes of DAP from November 3 to November 11, ensuring daily arrivals to meet the demand for wheat and other Rabi crops.

Current Stock and Distribution

Rana mentioned that as of November 6, Haryana has 28,670 tonnes of DAP in stock. The distribution process is ongoing to ensure timely delivery to farmers. He highlighted that about 70% of the total DAP demand for the Rabi season has already been fulfilled. The season runs from September 24 to March 25, and efforts are being made to maintain a steady supply throughout this period.

Opposition's Allegations

Opposition Congress leaders have claimed that farmers in various parts of Haryana are facing a shortage of DAP fertiliser. They accuse the government of not taking adequate measures to resolve this issue. In response, farmers under the Samyukta Kisan Morcha banner held a panchayat in Kurukshetra on Tuesday. They protested against the alleged DAP shortage, slow paddy procurement, and police cases related to stubble burning.

Government's Assurance

Rana urged farmers not to panic buy and advised them to purchase DAP according to their needs. This approach will help maintain a balanced supply chain. The government is committed to ensuring continuous availability of fertilisers during the Rabi season, which is crucial for agricultural productivity.
