FinanceAsia Ranks HDFC Bank As Best Company In India, Tops In Corporate Governance Too

In a poll carried out amongst investor community and analysts, a top global financial magazine FinanceAsia has voted in favour of HDFC Bank being the best managed Company in India. Also, the other accolades granted to the bank include of best in the 'Corporate Governance' segment. Also, at the same time, bank's Aditya Puri has been rewarded with the title of the Best CEO.

Other company which stoop in the top on Corporate Governance parameters include the likes of Bajaj Finserv TCS, Kotak Mahindra Bank. In the 5th spot were SBI and RIL both. While amongst the private companies, Paytm stood as the best private company.

"We are humbled by this recognition," said Shyamala Gopinath, Chairperson at HDFC Bank adding, "This is an endorsement of the Board's commitment to transparency and independence as also how each one of our 2 lakh members of the HDFC Bank family has conducted themselves. While we have always kept the customer at heart, it has not been at the cost of our values, integrity and governance standards. We will strive to live up to these going forward."

In the survey, some 335 analysts and portfolio managers participated from around the world.
