Financial Markets Closed Today For Good Friday

The stock markets, currency, bond and forex markets will remain closed for Good Friday today. The market will resume trading activity on Monday.

Financial Markets Closed Today For Good Friday

In Thursday's trade, benchmark indices climbed higher taking cues from global markets where leveling off coronavirus infection improved sentiment. Sensex ended the day up 4.23% or 1265.66 at 31159.62, while Nifty climbed 4.15% or 363.15 at 9111.90. Meanwhile stimulus hopes also fuelled the rally.

In the later part of the day, government announced relief package Rs. 15000 crore for tacking coronavirus led crisis.

Also, rupee during the day touched an all time low of 76.44 per US dollar which later settled higher 76.29 per US dollar.

In the commodity space, while the spot markets remain shut due to Covid 19 as a result of lockdowns. There is seen further rally in the metal space as government stimulus may result in increase in inflation.

Meanwhile Asian markets also rallied on hopes of the pandemic reaching the peak point and more stimulus measures from the government.

Most of the markets will also be shut today on account of Good Friday.
