FIR Filed Against Ashneer Grover & Family For Defrauding BharatPe

Economic Offences Wing has filed a first information report against former Managing Director BharatPe Ashneer Grover, his wife Madhuri Jain Grover, and two other family members on the basis of a complaint filed by the fintech unicorn, according to reports.

BharatPe in a statement welcomed the EOW's move. "We welcome the registration of an FIR by the Economic Offences Wing of the Delhi Police in the Company's complaint in relation to the criminal offences by Mr. Grover, his wife Madhuri Jain and other family members. For the last 15 months, the Company has been facing a vicious and malicious campaign run by Grover against the Company, the board and its employees," stated the BharatPe spokesperson.

In the previous six months as many as five lawsuits have already been filed against Ashneer Grover and he has been embroiled in a legal battle with BharatPe after financial irregularities surfaced in the company in January 2022. Ashneer was soon removed from the company in March last year.
