Flipkart has appointed Smita Ojha as Vice President of Engineering and Amit Sharma as Vice President of Program Management to strengthen OneTech leadership. Ojha will lead the Central Platforms Group, joining from Mindtickle. Sharma will head Technical Program Management, bringing Indian Army service and corporate leadership experience from Amazon, Accenture, and WNS.
Flipkart has named Smita Ojha as Vice President of Engineering and Amit Sharma as Vice President of Program Management. The e-commerce firm said the hires are meant to scale core technology. Flipkart added that the appointments aim to support long-term value creation. The company shared the update in a statement on Monday.

The roles sit within OneTech, Flipkart’s combined product and technology organisation. Flipkart said OneTech builds and runs digital experiences across the company. Ojha and Sharma are expected to strengthen leadership across technology and delivery work. Flipkart linked the move to its next stage of growth.
Flipkart OneTech leadership appointments and AI-native plans
Balaji Thiagarajan, Chief Product and Technology Officer, Flipkart, connected the hires to bigger technology goals. "As we enter our next phase of growth and accelerate our AI-native evolution, investing in strong leadership across technology and program management remains a key priority. Smita and Amit bring complementary strengths in platform engineering and large-scale execution, which will be instrumental in advancing our innovation agenda and enabling scalable, future-ready capabilities across Flipkart,\" Balaji Thiagarajan, Chief Product and Technology Officer, Flipkart, said.
Ojha will lead the Central Platforms Group CPG within Flipkart’s OneTech organisation. Flipkart said Ojha has more than two decades of experience. Ojha joins from Mindtickle, where Ojha served as Senior Vice President of Engineering. Flipkart said Ojha will focus on platform engineering within the group.
Flipkart OneTech Program Management role for Amit Sharma
Sharma will head the Technical Program Management charter for OneTech, according to Flipkart. Flipkart said Sharma served as an Indian Army Major for five years. During that time, Sharma managed an infantry battalion’s operations, training, and administration. Flipkart also said Sharma led the Ghatak Platoon, described as a crack commando outfit.
Flipkart said Sharma has over 25 years of corporate experience. Sharma previously served as a Director at Amazon, the company said. Flipkart added that Sharma also held leadership roles at Accenture and WNS. The company positioned the appointment as part of its broader focus on execution at scale.
Flipkart said the two appointments are designed to strengthen core technology and delivery systems. The company said Ojha and Sharma bring different skills that support OneTech’s work. Flipkart linked the changes to scaling its digital experiences across the business. The company did not share further details on timelines or additional hires.
