Flipkart Co-Founder Binny Bansal Plans To Launch New Start-Up In E-Commerce Space: Report

Binny Bansal, a co-founder of Flipkart, is preparing to create a new business in the cross-border e-commerce market after recently selling his remaining stake in Flipkart. Bansal is looking to establish a business that will help both Indian and international e-commerce firms with design, merchandise, and labour.

The startup will serve as a Knowledge Process Outsourcing (KPO) company, assisting commercial enterprises with their backend operations.

According to sources, Bansal is looking for a CEO to oversee the business as he will invest his own money but won't be directly involved in day-to-day operations.

The move comes after Bansal's complete separation from Flipkart, which Walmart acquired in 2018 for approx. $16 billion. The five-year non-compete provision that was a part of the sale agreement expired this year, releasing Bansal to launch a new e-commerce business.

Bansal has been active as an angel investor after leaving Flipkart, supporting multiple businesses in a range of industries.

It is anticipated that Bansal's new business will be self-funded and not seek outside funding. Bansal intends to create a global company that will offer crucial help to e-commerce businesses operating in international markets by utilising his own riches and experience.
