Food and grocery delivery platform Swiggy has launched a dedicated app, SNACC, to cater to the growing demand for rapid food delivery. Promising deliveries of quick bites, beverages, and meals in just 15 minutes, SNACC aims to take on competition in the food delivery sector, as both established players and new entrants race to satisfy the evolving tastes of Indian consumers.
For years, Swiggy has integrated all its offerings-including food delivery, hyperlocal delivery, quick commerce, and dining services-into a single app. However, with the growing demand for faster and more specialized services, Swiggy has launched SNACC as a distinct app, designed to focus solely on rapid deliveries. This move mirrors trends seen across the industry, with platforms like Zomato-owned Blinkit, Zepto, and others setting up separate apps to streamline their offerings. This shift is largely driven by the increasing appetite for 15-minute food delivery.

SNACC in Bengaluru
The app, with its striking fluorescent green background and dark blue text, went live on January 7, 2025, in select parts of Bengaluru, Swiggy's home turf. The company has plans to expand the app's reach across other regions of India as it scales up operations. According to Moneycontrol reports, SNACC's landing page features various categories such as Indian Breakfast, Coffee, Bakes, Cold Beverages, Eggs, and Protein, offering a range of quick meal options to consumers on the go.
While some items are branded, including collaborations with brands like Blue Tokai and The Whole Truth, much of the menu is sourced from third-party food providers, making it flexible in terms of supply.
SNACC Rollout
SNACC's launch is especially noteworthy because the app and its offerings were conceptualized in mid-December 2024, which means it was brought to life and went live in less than a month. This rapid rollout highlights Swiggy's ability to innovate quickly in response to market demands and competition. The success of this quick turnaround could set the tone for future app developments and feature rollouts within Swiggy.
Building on the success of Bolt
SNACC's debut follows Swiggy's successful launch of its rapid food delivery service, Bolt, in October 2024. Bolt promises 10-minute food delivery and was introduced in six cities before expanding to over 400. In just two months, Bolt has grown to account for 5% of Swiggy's total food delivery orders during the July-September period of 2024. The addition of SNACC to Swiggy's portfolio takes the company's focus on 15-minute food delivery to the next level.
Unlike Bolt, which sources food from partner restaurants, SNACC operates from a centralized location where various products are stocked and made available for delivery. This model allows for a quick fulfilment of orders and could evolve as the service scales.
Quick Commerce in India
The success of rapid food delivery, especially in the 15-minute window, marks a shift in how Indian consumers perceive food ordering. Companies like Blinkit and Zepto have paved the way, but now Swiggy's aggressive push with SNACC positions it as a leader in this emerging space. The concept of 15-minute delivery is now seen as an essential service, not just a novelty, and companies are racing to secure market share in this fast-growing sector.
Swiggy's decision to separate SNACC from its main platform aligns with trends seen globally in quick commerce (q-commerce). With increasing competition, dedicated apps for specific services, like food delivery, help companies differentiate their offerings and tap into a broader customer base. By focusing on speedy service with an easy-to-use app interface, SNACC is tapping into the growing consumer preference for convenience and rapid satisfaction.
Swiggy's stock was trading with a slight dip of nearly 3% at Rs 494.40 per share as of 2 pm on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) on January 8. However, the stock has gained over 8% since its listing in early November 2024.
