The full-fledged Union Budget for 2024-25 will be presented by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on July 23. This Budget will be the first of Modi 3.0 after his government's third win in Lok Sabha Elections 2024.

The budget is presented every year in India on the first of February. As per Article 112 of the Indian Constitution, it is mandatory to announce the Budget in the Parliament before the start of a financial year which begins on April 1st and ends on March 31st.

However, in 2024, due to being an election year, the incumbent government presented the interim Budget FY25 on February 1, and after its third win, the final and annual budgetary document will be announced in July.

The budget holds major significance in India as it aims to ensure social justice, equality and balanced economic growth. It is divided into two parts namely revenue and capital budget.

The importance of the Union Budget is to efficiently streamline allocations of resources, curb unemployment-related problems, tackle poverty levels, minimize wealth and income disparities, restructure tax modules for citizens either be rich-middle-or-poor class, and further announce measures to keep prices in check.

This year, the Budget session will begin on July 22nd and will continue till August 12th.
