According to Forbes' World's Highest-Paid Celebrities 2020 list, people whose performances are enjoyed across the world, lost $200 million collectively from the previous year, as sports stadiums, movie theatres remained closed and music concerts were halted due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Bollywood star Akshay Kumar was the only Indian in the top 100, at 52nd position with pretax earnings of $48 million, according to Forbes.
The list is based on the earnings of celebrities from June 2019 to May 2020.
The magazine said that while Kumar signed a deal to star in the upcoming Amazon Prime series "The End" during the period for an estimated $10 million, most of his earnings have been outside Hollywood. It also said that he has received close to $13 million as upfront payment for his upcoming movies like Bell Bottom and Bachchan Pandey.
The worldwide high paid celeb list was topped by American media personality Kylie Jenner and Kanye West, the musician who is married to Jenner's half-sister Kim Kardashian. Jenner and West brought in $590 million and $170 million, respectively. Jenner earnings largely came from selling a 51% stake in her cosmetics firm to American firm Coty in January
Tennis player Roger Federer ($106.3 million), professional football players Cristiano Ronaldo ($105 million) and Lionel Messi ($104 million) were in the top 5.
Next on the top 10 list were American actor Tyler Perry ($97 million), Brazilian professional footballer Neymar ($95.5 million), American radio personality Howard Stern ($90 million), American professional basketball player Lebron James ($88.2 million) and American actor Dwayne Johnson ($87.5 million).
Except for Jenner, there were no other female celebrities in the top 10.
