Franklin Templeton Mutual Fund has launched the Franklin India Multi Asset Allocation Fund (FIMAAF), a new open-ended mutual fund that invests in a mix of equities, debt instruments, and commodities like gold and silver.
About the NFO:
The New Fund Offer (NFO) opened today, on July 11, 2025, and closes on July 25, 2025, with units priced at Rs 10 each during the offer period. It will reopen for regular purchase and redemption from August 4, 2025.
FIMAAF aims to provide long-term capital growth while managing risk through a diversified portfolio. The fund invests across multiple asset classes including equities (large-cap, mid-cap, and small-cap), debt instruments, money market securities, and commodities like gold and silver.

Commodities are included to provide additional diversification and hedge against market uncertainty. The fund's benchmark is a composite of 65% Nifty 500, 20% Nifty Short Duration Index, 5% domestic gold price, 5% silver, and 5% iCOMDEX Composite Index.
The fund is suitable for investors looking to diversify their portfolios across asset classes to manage short-term market swings while aiming for steady, long-term returns. The minimum investment required is Rs 5,000, with additional investments starting at Rs 1,000 and SIPs available from Rs 500.
The fund will be managed by Janakiraman Rengaraju, Rajasa K, Rohan Maru, Pallab Roy, and Sandeep Manam.
"FIMAAF adopts a flexible allocation strategy that is designed to leverage the distinct risk-return profile of equities, fixed income, and commodities. In the current volatile environment, where equity valuations are elevated and bond yields are stabilizing, a portfolio combining these asset classes with commodities like gold can deliver superior risk-adjusted returns," said Avinash Satwalekar, President, Franklin Templeton-India.
Investors can redeem up to 10% of their units within the first year without any exit load; redemptions above this will have a 0.5% exit load.
"For equity allocation, Franklin India Multi Asset Allocation Fund uses a bottom-up QGSV framework (Quality, Growth, Sustainability & Valuation) for stock selection and adopts a well-diversified strategy across sectors and market capitalizations," said Janakiraman R, Chief Investment Officer - Emerging Markets Equity-India, Franklin Templeton.
"Asset class performance changes over time, and a balanced approach can offer better risk-adjusted returns. the team will look beyond credit ratings to identify high-quality fixed income opportunities, primarily focusing on AAA-rated instruments," said Rahul Goswami, Chief Investment Officer, India Fixed Income, Franklin Templeton.
