The report is expected to include details of the product batch and vendor, internal quality inspection records, measures taken to trace and remove any potentially affected products from the market, and long-term corrective steps to ensure such incidents do not occur again.

Following reports of the regulatory notice, shares of Nestle India witnessed a decline of more than 3% in market trading.

KFC Outlet Faces Questions Over Hygiene and Food Handling Practices

In a separate matter, FSSAI issued a notice to a KFC outlet operating at MVR Mall in Eluru, Andhra Pradesh, after allegations regarding unhygienic conditions surfaced online.

The regulator has asked the food operator to provide information related to cleanliness standards, food storage procedures, waste disposal systems, pest-control practices and employee hygiene protocols, along with proof of corrective measures undertaken.

KFC franchise operator Devyani International stated that it would investigate the allegations mentioned in the notice and present its response to the food regulator. Sapphire Foods clarified that the outlet involved in the matter is operated by Devyani International.

Another complaint being examined involves Open Secret's "Un-junked Dates" product, which was delivered via Flipkart Minutes. The complaint alleged the presence of insects inside the packaged product as per NDTV Profit report.

FSSAI has requested details of the company's quality-control processes, investigation findings, steps taken to withdraw affected products from the supply chain and preventive measures to avoid similar issues in the future.
