CNG Price Hike in Pune
The Maharashtra Natural Gas Limited has raised (CNG) prices in Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad and nearby areas. The retail rate has gone up by Rs 1.50 per kg to Rs 92.25 per kg. The revised price applies in Pune, Pimpri-Chinchwad and nearby hubs such as Chakan, Talegaon and Hinjewadi.
Will CNG Price Increase For Households?
The CNG for vehicles has become costlier, but there will be no revision in rates for CNG household users. MNGL confirmed that Domestic Piped Natural Gas supplied to homes will continue at existing tariffs. The revision affects only the vehicular CNG segment across the notified urban and industrial clusters.
Why CNG Price Was Hiked By MNGL?
The CNG price hike in Pune was increased due to the increase in the cost of the natural gas used for transport fuel. The company said higher input charges have pressured overall supply expenses. Due to this, the new rate of Rs 92.25 per kg has been put in place from midnight of 8-9 May 2026.

When Will Revised CNG Prices Come Into Effect?
The revised CNG rates in Pune and nearby areas has come into effect from midnight of May 8-9. The city gas distribution firm has underlined that only vehicular CNG tariffs are revised from midnight of 8-9 May 2026, while domestic PNG users continue under unchanged price slabs.
