Fuel Prices On March 29, 2022: Rates Hiked Again, Petrol Tops Rs. 100/l In Delhi
There has been a relentless hike in fuel rates since last week. Today (March 29,2022) also, petrol has been hiked by 80 paise per litre, while for diesel the hike has been by 70 paise. As per the price update by oil marketing companies, in Delhi petrol now costs Rs. 100.21 as against Rs. 99.41 per litre previously, while diesel is priced at Rs. 91.47.
In Mumbai, petrol today costs 85 paise more and is priced at Rs. 115.04 while diesel is priced 75 paise higher at Rs. 99.25.
In Chennai, the new rates for petrol and diesel are Rs. 105.94 and Rs. 96 per litre, respectively. Similarly, in Kolkata revised petrol and diesel rates are Rs. 109.68 and Rs. 94.62 per litre, respectively.

This is the seventh increase in rates ever since fuel rates have seen an upward revision beginning March 22, 2022.
As per Kotak Institutional Equities OMCs "will need to raise diesel prices by ₹13.1-24.9 per litre and ₹10.6-22.3 a litre on gasoline (petrol) at an underlying crude price of USD 100-120 per barrel".
