Fuel Prices: Petrol, Diesel Rates Unchanged On August 30
On Monday, August 30, 2021, petrol and diesel prices in the four metros remained steady for the sixth day in a row. According to Indian Oil Corporation, petrol prices in the national capital were stable at 101.49 per litre and diesel prices were at 89.92 per litre.
Petrol rates in Mumbai remained steady at Rs 107.52 per litre, while diesel was offered for Rs 96.48 per litre.
State-owned oil refineries such as Indian Oil, Bharat Petroleum, and Hindustan Petroleum adjust fuel prices on a daily basis, taking into account crude oil prices in international markets and rupee-dollar exchange rates. Any changes in gasoline and diesel prices take effect at 6 a.m. every day.
Meanwhile, oil prices fell down from three-week highs earlier in the day as a massive hurricane ravaged the Gulf of Mexico, forcing hundreds of offshore oil facilities to shut down and evacuate. Brent had risen 16 cents, or 0.2 percent, to $72.86 a barrel, while U.S. oil had fallen 4 cents to $68.70 a barrel.
