Fuel Prices Remain Unchanged After Seven Straight Days Of Hike

After a seven-day spike in fuel prices, the rates were held steady on Wednesday, November 3. According to Indian Oil Corporation, petrol and diesel prices in the national capital were 110.04 and 98.42 per litre, respectively.

Petrol and diesel rates in Delhi increased by 0.35 paise yesterday. In Delhi, a litre of petrol costs 110.04 rupees, while a litre of diesel costs 98.42 rupees. Petrol and diesel prices in the country's financial capital have risen to rs 115.85 per litre and rs 106.62 per litre, respectively.

In Kolkata, however, the price of a litre of petrol has risen to 110.49 rupees and that of a litre of diesel has risen to 101.56 rupees. Yesterday, petrol prices in Chennai were also raised. In Chennai, fuel and diesel prices increased to 106.66 and 102.59 per litre, respectively.

Brent crude futures slid 87 cents, or 1.03 percent, to $83.85 a barrel on the global market. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) oil futures in the United States fell 85 cents, or 1%, to $82.76 a barrel.

While petrol has already surpassed the Rs 100 per litre milestone in all major cities throughout the country, diesel has done so in more than a half-dozen states. Diesel prices surpassed that mark in cities ranging from Punjab's Jalandhar to Sikkim's Gangtok.

Prices vary by state, based on the prevalence of local taxes and transit costs.
