Petrol and diesel prices after record gains have been again hiked for the third consecutive day today (October 29, 2021). The price of petrol and diesel both saw a surge by 35 paise today.

State-run oil marketing companies including BPCL, HPCL and IOC began revising fuel rates on a daily basis on September 24 after international crude rates hit close to a 3-year high. Notably, now the crude prices internationally have hit 7-year high and fuel rates in the country have been kept unchanged after 7 consecutive days of hike.

International crude rates

Both the crude benchmarks traded higher in trade on Friday by a marginal amount. Brent with gains of 0.2 percent traded at $84.48 per bbl while WTI traded with gains of 0.1 percent at $82.9 per barrel. There has been provided signals of tighter global oil market for the quarters.
