Fuel Rates Surge Again After 1 Day Hiatus On September 30, 2021: Check Rates
State run oil marketing companies (OMCs) after a gap of one day have again hiked fuel rates across metros today (September 30, 2021). The price of petrol in the National Capital was increased by 25 paise to Rs. 101.64 per litre, while diesel price saw hike by 20 paise to Rs 89.87 per litre.

Likewise, petrol price in Mumbai surged to Rs. 107.71 per litre while diesel was sold at Rs. 97.52 per litre, surging 31 paise. On May 29, Mumbai became the first metro in the country where petrol was retailing at more than Rs. 100 per litre.
In Kolkata, petrol and diesel costs Rs 102.17 and 92.97 per litre, respectively. Petrol price in Chennai was hiked to Rs 99.36 from earlier Rs 99.15 a litre, while diesel costs Rs 94.45 per litre.
Petrol rates resumed their upward journey on September 28, 2021 for the first time in over two months. The increase in fuel rates in domestic markets mirrored international oil price surge for the fifth straight day and global crude benchmark nearing $80 per barrel levels. India meets nearly 85 percent of its oil requirements through imports and hence benchmarks domestic rates to international crude rates.
