Fuel Rates Unchanged After Hike; Check Latest Rates

Oil marketing organizations kept the price of petrol steady on Wednesday, a day after hiking the rate of both fuels. Petrol is currently priced at Rs 101.39 a litre in the national capital, while diesel is priced at Rs 89.57 per litre. In the last five days, the price of diesel has risen by about 70 paise.

Petrol costs Rs 107.47 per litre in Mumbai, while diesel costs Rs 97.21 per litre. The price of a litre of petrol in Chennai is Rs 99.15. The price of a litre of diesel was Rs 94.17 a litre on Wednesday.

In Kolkata, a litre of petrol costs Rs 101.87, while a litre of diesel costs Rs 92.67. In Bhopal, a litre of petrol costs Rs 109.85 and a litre of diesel costs Rs 98.45.

Freight expenses, local taxes, and VAT are all factored into the price of gasoline and diesel. In Delhi, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, Jammu and Kashmir, Odisha, Tamil Nadu, Ladakh, and several places in Bihar and Punjab, the price of petrol has surpassed Rs 100 per litre.

On Wednesday morning, crude oil prices fell for the second day in a row as investors expressed alarm over the spread of covid-19 around the world. Brent crude futures were trading at $78.06 per barrel, according to Reuters, down from the $80 per barrel price earlier in the day. WTI futures in the United States were trading at $74.27 a barrel.
