Gas Cylinder Booking Rules: Amidst 25-Day, 45-Days LPG Refill Gap, How To Get Indane, BP, HP Gas Delivery OTP?

LPG gas cylinder has been prioritized for allocation after the US-Israel-Iran war forced an global energy crisis. While the government extended the gap for refilling LPG to 25-days and 45-days from the earlier 21-days, they also made it mandatory for an OTP-based delivery.

This means if you do not have an OTP for your Indane Gas, Bharat Gas, and HP Gas cylinder during the delivery time, you will not receive the handover of the gas. Oil marketing companies like Indian Oil, BPCL and HPCL have issued an advisory for customers for seamless LPG delivery.

Gas Cylinder Rules Of 25-Days & 45-Days:

Amidst various measures to curb the LPG supply crunch in the wake of the West Asia war, the government announced a 25-day and 45-day gap for refilling LPG. This was earlier 21-days in general and for all category customers.

Under the new rule, customers residing in urban areas can only apply for LPG refills after 25-day gap of the previous purchase.

Meanwhile, customers in rural areas can do the process after a 45-day gap.

According to the latest update from the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas, since the US-Israel-Iran war, online LPG cylinder bookings increased to about 99% on an industry basis yesterday.

Another major shift is the Delivery Authentication Code (DAC)-based deliveries, which have increased to about 95% to prevent diversion. DAC is received on the registered mobile number of the consumer.

Indane Gas LPG Cylinder Advisory:

Indian Oil recently said, "Your safety begins with a secure delivery." It explained that share he 6-digit Delivery Authentication Code (DAC) only with the Indane delivery personnel at the time of LPG delivery.

Also, do not queue at the distributorship and book your LPG refill digitally.

That being said, for Indane Gas LPG cylinder, you must note that the OTP will be 6-digit and sent to your registered mobile number.

HP Gas LPG Cylinder Delivery Advisory:

Meanwhile, during the weekend, HPCL warned customers about scammers and how they are trying to imitate LPG delivery messages. It said, "Scammers may try to imitate LPG delivery messages but knowing what an authentic HP Gas message looks like can help you stay protected."

How does an authentic HP Gas delivery looks like?

HPCL guides that before sharing your Delivery Authentication Code, always verify:

1. The message comes from the official sender name: VM-HPGASc-S.

2. It contains a 4-digit OTP.

3. It is used only at the time of cylinder delivery.

"Remember, HP Gas representatives will never ask for OTPs over phone calls, WhatsApp messages, or suspicious links," HPCL added. Lastly, it said, "If the message feels urgent, unfamiliar, or looks different from the official format, do not trust it."

Hence, for HP Gas cylinders, the delivery OTP is 4-digit.

Bharat Gas LPG Cylinder Advisory:

To ensure safe and reliable supply of Bharat Gas, BPCL in April 2026 said, "Customers are encouraged to book LPG through official online channels, as per normal requirement, and avoid panic booking or unnecessary stocking. There is no need to pay attention to rumours, supply remains steady and deliveries are being carried out smoothly."

Here are some of the key things to note:

1. Book Bharat Gas LPG cylinders only as per normal requirement.

2. Do not queue at LPG distributorships. Cylinders will be delivered to your home.

3. Avoid panic booking and unnecessary stocking.

4. An OTP is generated for LPG delivery. Share it only at the time of delivery.

5. Use LPG judiciously.

6. Rely only on official communication channels.

IVRS Service: You can either dial 88888 23456 from your registered mobile number.

Missed Call: Give a missed call on 94936 02222 to order for refill.

WhatsApp: Send a quick "Hi" to 92222 01122 on your WhatsApp. Ensure the message is send through registered mobile number.

Website: Visit the official website www.myhpgas.in to order for refill.

Mobile Apps: You can also opt for refill of your desired HP Gas through applications like UMANG, Amazon Pay, Paytm, PhonePe and other BBPS-enabled apps.

Customer Service Centres: The refill can also be done by visiting the nearby CSC centres for assistance.

How To Book Bharat Gas LPG Cylinder Online?

IVRS Booking Number: Customers can call 7715012345 or 7718012345 from their registered mobile numbers to request for refill.

SMS Booking: Or you can send a message saying 'LPG' to 7715012345 or 7718012345 through your registered mobile number.

WhatsApp Booking: To book your LPG through WhatsApp, you have to first save BPCL Smartline number 1800224344 in your contacts. Then type a 'Hi' or 'Book' to this number on your WhatsApp app for initiating the booking.

Mobile App: You can also install Bharatgas application from Play Store. Log in the app using your registered mobile number and select the option 'Refill Cylinder' for further process.

Other Apps: Apart from BP, you can also book for refill through UMANG app, a government-backed unified app for all gas cylinders.

How To Get OTP-Based LPG Delivery?

Once your booking is placed, you will receive a confirmation message which will have the booking number.

Then, use the booking number to track your delivery status on the apps or the website.

After this, you will also get updates of your delivery through notifications and SMS on your registered mobile number.

However, you will receive a one-time password (OTP) on your registered number for verification during the day of the delivery.
