Gas Cylinder Booking New Rule: LPG Refill Interval For Rural Areas CUT From 45 To 25 Days; Check Fresh Update

Big relief for domestic LPG consumers as the Central Government has revised the LPG refill booking interval for rural consumers, reducing it down from 45 days to 25 days. With the newly announced gas cylinder booking new rule, getting a refill LPG will now be in the same period for both urban and rural domestic LPG consumers across India.

Suresh Gopi, the Minister of State for Tourism & Petroleum and Natural Gas, Government of India today announced this decision.
In a facebook Post he said, "Considering the pressure on LPG supply in the wake of the Middle East conflict, the refill booking interval was 25 days in urban areas and 45 days in rural areas."

"However, with the current LPG supply situation improving and the refill backlog significantly reduced, the central government has relaxed this restriction. Now, all domestic LPG customers, regardless of urban or rural location, can book refills at intervals of 25 days." he added.

Subsequently, The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas has directed state-owned oil marketing companies, Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (IOCL), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL) and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (HPCL) to implement the Gas Cylinder Booking New Rule with immediate effect.

Why Was The LPG Refill Booking Interval Changed?

During the peak of the Middle East conflict in February 2026, the government had introduced the 45 days refill interval for rural consumers as a temporary measure because there was a lot of pressure on LPG supplies. Hence the Ministry had prescribed a 25-day interval for urban consumers and 45 days for rural consumers. However, the government has now said that the LPG supply situation has improved considerably.

Gas Cylinder Booking Via Indane Gas (Indian Oil)

Indane customers can book a refill by dialling the IVRS number 7718955555 or sending "REFILL" via SMS from their registered mobile number.
Customers can also do the booking by giving a missed call to 8454955555.

Customers can send "REFILL" to 7588888824 on WhatsApp, or book online by visiting cx.indianoil.in. Similarly, the IndianOil One mobile app can also be used for booking

Gas Cylinder Booking Via Bharat Gas (BPCL)

Bharat Gas customers can use the Hello BPCL mobile app to book refills digitally. Other options include:

IVRS method: You should call 7715012345 or 7718012345 from your registered mobile number and follow the voice prompts to confirm the refill booking.

SMS: Send the message "LPG" to the same two numbers (7715012345 or 7718012345). You'll receive an SMS confirmation with a unique reference number.

WhatsApp: Send "Hi" or "Book" to 1800224344 to start booking on Whatsapp. You can also visit my.ebharatgas.com and for online booking via app.

Gas Cylinder Booking Booking Via HP Gas (HPCL)

IVRS or SMS Method: You can dial or send "HPGAS" via SMS to 88888 23456
