Gas Cylinder Booking Rules Alert: How To Do LPG Biometric Aadhaar Authentication eKYC For Indane, BP, HP Gas

The LPG crisis in India continues across states and cities, impacting households, commutations and businesses despite the government's assurance of allocating sufficient LPG and measures related to booking gas cylinders. However, the ground reality is far different with long queues, long-wait and stress for buying LPGs. Amidst this, states are encouraging customers to finish their eKYC for LPG booking, signaling the importance of transparency and efficiency in delivery.

Gas Cylinder Booking Via Online:

As per the latest government update, citizens are advised to use digital modes for booking LPG cylinders and avoid visiting distributors unless necessary. The government has given high priority to Domestic LPG and PNG, along with high priority to hospitals and educational institutions.

Further, the government has directed alternate use of fuels against LPG such as Kerosene, coal and PNG. It said, "States have been advised to facilitate the new PNG connections for both domestic and commercial consumers."

5KG Gas Cylinder Booking:

The Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas stated on April 5, that States were directed to prioritize LPG distribution, especially for domestic and essential needs, while maintaining strict vigilance against hoarding, diversion, and misinformation. On reports concerning FTL LPG supplies to migrant workers, States clarified that there is no disruption in LPG supply affecting migrants and that supplies remain stable. Secretary informed that states may consider managing targeted distribution of 5 kg FTL LPG cylinders, based on local requirements along with OMCs.

The government has announced easy access to 5 Kg FTL cylinders without address proof. They have ramped up production for 5KG cylinders with nearly 90,000 sold yesterday.

Gas Cylinder Booking Rules Of 45-Days & 25-Days:

In the month of March, the government revised the lock-in period for refilling LPG by hiking the number of days from earlier 21-days lock-in period. The new lock-in period for booking LPG cylinders are 45 days and 25 days, irrespective of LPG connection. So it means, even if you have a 14.2 kg cylinder connection or 5 kg cylinder connection, the lock-in period remains 25 days in urban areas and 45 days for rural consumers.

Gas Cylinder Booking eKYC:

Also, the government made it mandatory for Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) beneficiaries to do an Aadhaar-based authentication. As per the latest direction, the ministry clarified that the requirement of eKYC applies to those LPG consumers who have not done eKYC so far. If you are a non-PMUY customer and have done it before, then you are not required to do the LPG biometric Aadhaar authentication.

How To Do eKYC of Indane Gas, Bharat Gas & HP Gas?

Indane Gas Cylinder Booking eKYC Aadhaar-Based Face Biometric:

Step 1: You can do your eKYC through the comfort of your home. For Indane Gas, you can do the process by downloading IndianOil One APP or AadhaarFaceRD App.

IndianOil One app is meant for LPG services and KYC. This app can be available on either Android or iOS.

Meanwhile, AadhaarFaceRD app is meant for secure biometric verification through face scan. This is also available on both Android and iOS platform.

Step 2: Once the app is downloaded, open the IndianOil One app and sign up with your registered mobile number and email address.

Step 3: Then link your 16-digit LPG ID, available on your cash memo or subscription voucher. Your consumer details will appear.

Step 4: Then go to the home screen, and tap on 'My Profile'

Step 5: Ensure to check your LPG details in the sections under My Profile and then tap on re-KYC.

Step 6: Some instructions and conditions will appear on the screen. Read them carefully and provide your consent.

Step 7: Click on the tick box under the Face Authentication Advisories page. Then click on Face Scan button and complete the biometric Aadhaar verification process.

Notably, if your Aadhaar is biometrically locked then first unlock it otherwise the process could not be completed.

Bharat Gas Cylinder Booking eKYC Aadhaar-Based Face Biometric:

Step 1: For Bharat Gas, you will have to download Hello BPCL App.

Step 2: After downloading, open the app and register yourself.

Step 3: On the homepage, you will find the option of e-KYC.

Step 4: Tap on e-KYC. You will be directed to an page, where you will be required to enter OTP verification. A six-number OTP will be sent to your registered mobile number. Enter it.

Step 5: Once verified, you will be required to read through terms and conditions before providing consent.

Step 6: Then click on proceed to complete the process.

HP Gas Cylinder Booking eKYC Aadhaar-Based Face Biometric:

Step 1: For HP Gas, download the HP Pay App for e-KYC and other LPG services. You can also do the process through Aadhaar FaceRD app.

Step 2: Open the HP Pay app, tap on the register and enter mobile number linked to your HP Gas account.

Step 3: Enter the OTP you received on your registered mobile number for verification.

Step 4: The next step is to set up a 4-digit MPIN which allows easy accessibility for future.

Step 5: Then log into the app using your MPIN, and allow location access.

Step 6: Head over to the 'MY HP' section and tap on LPG.

Step 7: You will find the e-KYC option there. Click on it which will take you to the terms and conditions page.

Step 8. Give your consent after reading carefully and then click on 'Capture Face' option.

Step 9: The Aadhaar FaceRD app will open. Allow it to scan your face. Follow the instructions shown on the screen and complete your e-KYC.
