Gas Cylinder Booking Rules: Reasons Why OTP Not Received & How To Book Indane Gas, Bharat Gas, HP Gas Refills?

The government has assured citizens that there is no shortage of petroleum products and that the country has an adequate 45-day supply of LPG rolling stock. Amidst this, the government continues to encourage citizens to book LPG cylinders through online methods while tracking black marketing and hoarding. Various rules were introduced for LPG booking and delivery since the US-Israel-Iran war escalated. One requirement is the mandatory one-time password (OTP) for receiving LPG cylinders.

LPG Gas Cylinder Latest Update:

In the latest meeting of the Informal Group of Ministers (IGoM) on West Asia, Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh stated that there is no shortage of any petroleum product, even as most other nations have taken emergency measures to dramatically reduce domestic consumption.

"India has 60 days of crude oil, 60 days of Natural Gas and 45 days of LPG rolling stock. The foreign exchange reserves stand at a comfortable $703 billion. India is the world's third largest oil refiner and fourth largest exporter of petroleum products, exporting to over 150 countries and is meeting domestic demand in full," the Raksha Mantri said.

Amidst this, the government continues to advise citizens the following for LPG cylinders:

- Avoid panic purchase of petrol, diesel and LPG.

- Beware of rumours and rely on official sources for correct information.

- LPG consumers are requested to use digital booking platforms and avoid visiting distributors.

- Citizens are encouraged to use alternate fuels such as PNG and electric or induction cooktops.

- All citizens are requested to make necessary efforts to conserve energy in their daily use during the current situation.

Data of the government showed that online LPG cylinder bookings increased to 98% on an industry basis. While Delivery Authentication Code (DAC) based deliveries have increased to around 94% to prevent diversion. DAC is received on the registered mobile number of the consumer.

Oil marketing companies and the Oil Ministry has said that on successful booking of LPG, an OTP will be generated which necessary for LPG delivery. This means that without an OTP, your LPG delivery will be unsuccessful.

Gas Cylinder Delivery OTP Not Received? Here Are The Reasons Why:

There can be many common reasons to why you did not receive an OTP for your LPG delivery. Here's what they are:

1. Wrong Mobile Number: If you have added a wrong number during LPG cylinder booking, your OTP will go to another number and not the registered one.

2. Network Problem: A weak signal might delay your OTP message/

3. DND Service Active: If you have selected Do-Not-Disturb (DND) option to your mobile number, you will not receive promotional messages for 3rd party services.

4. LPG Server Down: If the LPG servers are down at the companies, your booking could fail temporarily and hence you will not receive any OTP.

5. SIM Inbox Full: If your message box is full, new messages might not arrive or get hidden. You will have to empty or make space in your SMS to receive new messages.

6. Mobile Restart Needed: If there is an issue in your mobile device, then OTP might not appear on your screen.

7. Spam Filter: If there is a spam filter in your SMS box, your OTP could move to spam. Always check your spam box as well.

Gas Cylinder Rules Of 25-Days & 45-Days:

Amidst various measures to curb the LPG supply crunch in the wake of the West Asia war, the government announced a 25-day and 45-day gap for refilling LPG. This was earlier 21-days in general and for all category customers.

Under the new rule, customers residing in urban areas can only apply for LPG refills after 25-day gap of the previous purchase. Meanwhile, customers in rural areas can do the process after a 45-day gap.

SMS/IVRS Booking: Just like the above two methods, you can send "REFILL" or use the IVRS service at 7718955555 for Indane Gas from your registered mobile number.

Missed Call Booking: For Indane, give a missed call to 8454955555 via your registered mobile number to request for a refill.

WhatsApp Booking: From your registered mobile number, send a message titled "REFILL" to 7588888824.

How To Book HP Gas LPG Cylinder Online?

IVRS Service: You can either dial 88888 23456 from your registered mobile number.

Missed Call: Give a missed call on 94936 02222 to order for refill.

WhatsApp: Send a quick "Hi" to 92222 01122 on your WhatsApp. Ensure the message is send through registered mobile number.

Website: Visit the official website www.myhpgas.in to order for refill.

Mobile Apps: You can also opt for refill of your desired HP Gas through applications like UMANG, Amazon Pay, Paytm, PhonePe and other BBPS-enabled apps.

How To Book Bharat Gas LPG Cylinder Online?

IVRS Booking Number: Customers can call 7715012345 or 7718012345 from their registered mobile numbers to request for refill.

SMS Booking: Or you can send a message saying 'LPG' to 7715012345 or 7718012345 through your registered mobile number.

WhatsApp Booking: To book your LPG through WhatsApp, you have to first save BPCL Smartline number 1800224344 in your contacts. Then type a 'Hi' or 'Book' to this number on your WhatsApp app for initiating the booking.

Other Apps: Apart from BP, you can also book for refill through UMANG app, a government-backed unified app for all gas cylinders.

When Will You Get an OTP For LPG Delivery?

Once your booking is placed, you will receive a confirmation message which will have the booking number. Then, use the booking number to track your delivery status on the apps or the website.

After this, you will also get updates of your delivery through notifications and SMS on your registered mobile number. However, you will receive a one-time password (OTP) on your registered number for verification during the day of the delivery.
