Gas Cylinder E-KYC Last Day Today: Will LPG Aadhaar E-KYC Deadline Get Extended For Indane, HP, Bharat Gas?

The LPG gas cylinder e-KYC deadline ends on Monday, September 14, 2026, for cooking gas such as Indane Gas, HP Gas, and Bharat Gas. However, there are expectations of an extension in the deadline, as many are still pending to complete their e-KYC, but the majority of Indian Oil, HPCL, and BPCL customers have completed the process.

LPG Gas Cylinder E-KYC Deadline:

Firstly, it needs to be noted that the government has extended the LPG e-KYC deadline for the fifth time in a two-month span. The new deadline for e-KYC is September 14th, which is another one-week's extension from the earlier deadline of September 7th. This will be the fifth extension in the e-KYC deadline. Prior to September, the earlier deadlines were August 16, August 23 and August 31.

Why Is LPG E-KYC Important?

The main motive is to ensure genuine eligible customers continue to receive LPG subsidies under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana scheme without any disruption. Further, updated e-KYC of LPG customers eliminates black marketing or fraud. Also, the method is to tackle illegal or multiple LPG connections under one name or one address.

Since the US-Iran conflict, the Oil Ministry has stated that one household should have only one cooking gas connection, either PNG or LPG. A household cannot have two connections simultaneously.

The household with both LPG and PNG connections or having PNG infrastructure but still using LPG will have to switch to PNG completely. This is to tackle black marketing, hoarding, and illegal LPG activities and make cooking gas cleaner, more efficient, and more affordable, which PNG is in comparison to LPG. This also helps in the time of supply crunch due to risks of global trade transportation at the Strait of Hormuz.

What Will Happen If You Miss Your LPG E-KYC?

There is no confirmed clarity from the government regarding the missing e-KYC of LPG cylinders. However, Indian Oil had notified earlier that if LPG e-KYC is not completed, you will not be eligible for domestic rates to purchase your LPG. Later on, many reports mentioned that failure to complete LPG e-KYC could lead to higher rates on LPG purchases.

Other reports have said that LPG connection, delivery, or refilling could be impacted temporarily until the process is completed.
