Gas Cylinder New E-KYC Rules: No LPG Refills On Indane, HP, Bharat Gas Without E-KYC; How To Complete?
The gas cylinder e-KYC deadline has ended on September 14, 2026, and LPG customers are facing difficulties in their services. As per reports, customers will not receive Indane Gas, HP Gas and Bharat Gas at subsidised rates if they have not completed their LPG biometric Aadhaar authentication. The reports revealed that at least 3.16 crore LPG consumers have not completed Aadhaar biometric (BAA).

As per reports, the Oil Ministry, in its letter to Indian Oil, Bharat Petroleum and Hindustan Petroleum, highlighted that at least 3.16 crore domestic LPG customers are yet to complete their LPG biometric Aadhaar authentication.
According to the ministry, LPG subsidy benefits, including direct benefit transfers (DBT) and targeted subsidy refills for non-BAA customers, were halted from July 1, 2026. However, they have noticed that these consumers still continue to get LPG refills at regulated retail prices with subsidised benefits, which puts further pressure on the financial burden of the exchequer.
The ministry emphasised that 100% BAA compliance is required for prudent use of public funds.
Following this, the ministry has asked OMCs to impose two major rules.

With immediate effect, OMCs are now blocking further LPG refills for customers who have not completed their LPG biometric Aadhaar authentication.
The ministry guidelines suggest that once the e-KYC is completed, the connection can be reactivated, and the LPG customers will then be able to avail refills at the regulated price with the applicable subsidy.
Gas Cylinder E-KYC Deadline:
Firstly, it needs to be noted that the government has extended the LPG e-KYC deadline for the fifth time in a two-month span. The new deadline for e-KYC is September 14th, which is another one-week's extension from the earlier deadline of September 7th. This will be the fifth extension in the e-KYC deadline. Prior to September, the earlier deadlines were August 16, August 23 and August 31.
Will Gas Cylinder E-KYC Deadline Get Extended?
So far, as per the latest notification of the ministry, the e-KYC window continues to be open for completion of the process. However, those who missed the September 14th deadline will not receive the LPG refills at subsidised rates or any refills at all until the process is completed.
Also, there have been no reports regarding the government planning to extend or announce a new deadline to complete e-KYC. As of now, the September 14th deadline remains effective.
