PNG Emerging As A Cheaper Alternative To LPG

India imports more than 90% of its LPG requirements and over 40% of its crude oil needs from global markets, especially West Asian countries such as Saudi Arabia and Qatar. As a result, LPG prices in India are now heavily influenced by Global crude oil prices & the ongoing geopolitical tensions in West Asia

PNG is becoming increasingly popular in urban India as it is generally 10-20% cheaper than LPG in many cities. Unlike LPG cylinders, PNG follows a metered billing system where consumers pay only for the gas they use. It also eliminates the need for cylinder booking and delivery. However, PNG availability is still limited to cities with pipeline infrastructure.

Will LPG Prices Increase Again?

With international crude oil prices remaining volatile, consumers and businesses are closely watching whether oil marketing companies announce another revision in gas cylinder rates in the coming weeks.
