This as per reports equates to $7.7 billion or Rs. 600 billion. With regard to the same he tweeted, "On our father's 100th birth anniversary & my 60th birthday, Adani Family is gratified to commit Rs 60,000 cr in charity towards healthcare, edu & skill-dev across India. Contribution to help build an equitable, future-ready India. @AdaniFoundation". This suggests that the funds would be offered to Adani Foundation.

Adani, chairman and founder of the Adani Group has a net worth of $92.7 billion as per the Bloomberg Billionaires Index. The billionaire industrialist turned 60 on Friday.

In the Bloomberg's Billionaires rankings this year, Adani has moved higher more than anybody else. This said his net worth surged as much as $16.2 billion given the gains in the shares of his companies including Adani Green Energy- which zoomed around 38%.

Established in 1996, the Adani Foundation focuses on the well-being of the less privileged. The Foundation has been driving upliftment programmes in the rural segment. As per the report which cites the Foundation's website, the entity has so far been of help to over 3.7 million people across 2,410 villages in the country.
