Ashok Gehlot Criticises Rajasthan Government for Failing to Purchase Bajra at Minimum Support Price
Former Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot criticised the state government on Wednesday for failing to buy jowar and bajra at the minimum support price. He accused the BJP-led administration of not maintaining existing schemes or fulfilling its promises. Gehlot highlighted that the BJP's manifesto promised to purchase these crops at the minimum support price if elected in Rajasthan.

BJP's Unfulfilled Promises
Gehlot pointed out that the BJP had pledged on page 20 of its manifesto to buy jowar and bajra at the minimum support price. However, in response to a question in the assembly, it was clarified that the Rajasthan government will not purchase bajra at this price. This revelation has exposed what Gehlot described as a betrayal of farmers.
The former Chief Minister also mentioned other unfulfilled promises by the BJP government. These include providing Rs 12,000 annually under the Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme and purchasing wheat at Rs 2,700 per quintal. Gehlot argued that these broken promises have further eroded trust among farmers.
Gehlot criticised the BJP for using "Modi ki Guarantee" as a slogan before elections. He stated that this guarantee is now proving to be just a slogan because the current government is unable to sustain previous schemes or deliver on its commitments.
