The Goa government said petrol and diesel supplies remained adequate on Thursday. The statement came after long queues formed at several fuel stations. Officials said people rushed in after rumours spread online. The state said fuel stocks at oil terminals were sufficient. It also said supply to retail outlets continued without interruption.

The Union Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas also said there was no fuel shortage. The ministry said India held about 60 days of fuel stock cover. It added that petrol, diesel, and LPG remained available. Officials said pumps were operating normally nationwide. The ministry said there was no rationing of petrol or diesel.
