Gold Prices In India Get Cheaper, June 18: Check Latest Gold Rates As Price Falls For 2nd Day

Gold prices in India recorded decline yet again for second day on June 18, 2024 amid stronger dollar and higher Treasury yields. Meanwhile, investors waited for more U.S. data and comments from Fed Reserve entire week for more cues on monetary policy outlook. 22k gold prices today declined by Rs 100 to Rs 66,200/10 grams and 100 grams of 22 carat yellow metal prices today fell by Rs 1000 to Rs 6,62,000 in India. 24k gold prices in India today slipped by Rs 110 to Rs 72,220/10 grams and 100 grams of 24 carat yellow metal price today dived by Rs 1100 to Rs 7,22,200.

18k gold prices today got cheaper by Rs 80 to Rs 54,160/10 grams and 100 grams of 18 carat precious metal prices fell by Rs 800 to Rs 5,41,600. Gold prices are highest in Chennai where 10 grams gold prices today are quoting Rs 66,950/10 grams.

Spot Gold, Spot Silver Prices Today: Spot gold surged 0.1% at $2,320.60 per ounce, as of 0120 GMT. US gold futures jumped 0.3% to $2,335.20. Spot silver slipped 0.1% to $29.47 per ounce, platinum rose 1% at $974.55 and palladium jumped 0.1% to $889.69., according to Reuters.

On factors that will unleash impact on gold prices, Praveen Singh, Associate VP - Fundamental Currencies and Commodities at Sharekhan by BNP Paribas, said, "Today's major US data on tap include retail sales advance (May) and industrial production (May). A softer-than-expected retail sales report may help the metal recoup some of its losses. However, traders will pay attention to Fedspeak, too, as they want to assess the rigidity of the hawkish FOMC outcome. Quite a few speakers will go on air Today."

Silver Prices Today: Silver prices today in India jumped by Rs 500 to 91,500/kg and 100 grams silver prices today surged by Rs 50 to Rs 9,150.
