Gold Prices Rise: Gold Trades Above Rs 61,600 Mark; Check Latest Gold Rate In Indian Cities Here

Gold prices in India jumped higher on Thursday as globally the price of the precious metal moved up buoyed by a weaker US dollar and fall in Treasury yields after the US Federal Reserve kept benchmark interest rates unchanged at 5.25% - 5.50%.

In India, the gold rate for 10 grams of 24 carat is currently Rs 61,640, while 22 carat of the same quantity of gold is currently available at Rs 56,500 in the country. The rise in gold prices has become a cause of concern for investors thinking of buying gold during the ongoing festive season when we are just a few days away from Diwali and Dhanteras.

Gold futures contract on Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) for December 2023 expiry were up 0.17% at Rs 60891 at 1:01 pm IST on Thursday.

Globally, the price of yellow metal rose on Thursday where Spot gold rose 0.2% to $1,986.29 an ounce as of 0540 GMT, while US gold futures gained 0.3% to $1,993.90.

Last week, Spot gold had advanced to as high as $2,009.29 on Friday as investors bolted for safety amid the Middle East crisis.

Today, the gold rate in Delhi for 24-carat gold (10 grams) is Rs 61,790, while 10 grams of 22-carat gold in the national capital costs Rs 56,650. Remember that the gold rate in Delhi is at par with the price of gold in Chandigarh, Jaipur, and Lucknow.

Gold prices in Bangalore for 24-carat gold (10 grams) is Rs 61,640, while 10 grams of 22-carat gold in Bangalore costs Rs 56,500. The gold rate in Bangalore is at par with the price of gold in Hyderabad, Kerala, and Kolkata.
