Gold Rate In India Today (16-10-2026): Price Pauses After A Heavy Fall Of Rs. 39800/100g in 4 Days; Buy Time?
Gold prices in India today are taking a breather, with no major movement recorded in early trade. Over the past four days, the 24 karat gold rate in India has slipped sharply by Rs.39,800 per 100 grams in the bullion market.
Traditionally, October & November observe strong gold and jewellery demand due to the festive & wedding season in India. However, with gold prices now declining, it is a great time for buyers to jump in and make the big jewellery purchases that they were postponing.

Gold Price Outlook Ahead
"Gold and silver fell sharply after US inflation came in hotter than expected. September CPI rose to 3.7%, above the 3.6% forecast, and that lifted bets on a Fed rate hike. CME FedWatch now shows about a 25% chance of a hike this month and a 65% probability in December. Geopolitical risk is still high, with a ship sunk in the Strait of Hormuz, Houthi strikes on Saudi Arabia and Russia-Ukraine refinery attacks. On the charts, gold has bounced off $4080, so dips look like buying chances. Silver is holding near $55-56 support, and short-covering could take it towards $58.50." said Prithviraj Kothari, Managing Director at RiddiSiddhi Bullions Ltd., President of India Bullion and Jewellers Association Ltd. and Chairman at Jain International Trade Organisation
