Gold rates in India remained steady on Wednesday after moving sharply in recent sessions. The price of 24 Karat gold stood at Rs 16,375 per gram, while 22 Karat gold was priced at Rs 15,010 per gram and 18 Karat gold at Rs 12,281 per gram.
Gold prices eased after touching a more than three-month high in the previous session, as investors remained cautious ahead of a key US inflation report. The data could provide fresh clues about the Federal Reserve's interest-rate outlook and influence global gold prices.
Meanwhile, silver prices in India remained unchanged at Rs 260 per gram, or Rs 2,60,000 per kilogram. The precious metal market is expected to remain sensitive to US economic data, interest-rate expectations and movements in the dollar.
