Also, 22-carat gold rates tumbled by Rs 1,500 to Rs 13,99,500 per 100 grams and plummeted by Rs 160 to Rs 1,52,680. Also, 8 grams gold price dipped by Rs 120 to Rs 1,11,960 and is down by Rs 15 to Rs 13,995 per 1 gram in the same carat.
Under 18 carat, 100 grams gold price declined by Rs 1,200 to Rs 11,45,100 and 10 grams gold here slipped by Rs 120 to Rs 1,14,510. Also, 8 grams and 1 grams gold price dropped by Rs 96 and Rs 12 to Rs 91,608 and Rs 11,451 respectively.
"Gold came under pressure and is down more than 2% for the week. A stronger US dollar, higher Treasury yields and expectations of tighter US monetary policy weighed on prices," said N S Ramaswamy, Head of Commodity & CRM at Ventura.
Traders are pricing in a nearly 70% chance of a rate hike in October and a 95% probability of another increase in December, according to the CME FedWatch Tool, as inflationary pressures remain elevated and economic data continues to signal resilience in the US economy. The pressure on gold persisted despite a decline in oil prices on Friday, after US and Iranian negotiators in New York reportedly explored a deal that could see Tehran reopen the Strait of Hormuz in exchange for Washington easing its economic blockade of Iran. Meanwhile, gold demand in India picked up modestly as lower prices attracted buyers ahead of the festive season, as per Trading Economics.

Gold And Silver Outlook For Festive Season
Looking ahead for the festive season, Kavita Chacko, Research Head of World Gold Council recently said that gold demand in India is expected to improve as the festive and wedding season progresses, supported by steady investment demand and resilient wedding-related buying, though elevated prices and volatility may continue to constrain discretionary buying.
For the next week, Kaynat Chainwala, AVP Commodity Research, Kotak Securities said, " Markets are now pricing roughly a 70% probability of a 25-basis-point hike in October. Weekly jobless claims fell to 197,000, while August new-home sales rose 6.4% to 684,000. Fed officials maintained a hawkish stance, with several policymakers signaling that further tightening could still be warranted. Looking ahead, further softness in oil, the dollar, and yields could support bullion, while stronger data and hawkish Fed guidance remain headwinds."
