Gold Rates In India Today Jumps, Silver Rates Climb Too Despite Higher Oil Prices; 24K, 22K, 18K Gold Prices
Gold rates in India climbed in the range of Rs 1,200 to Rs 1,700 on July 20, 2026, due to a broader surge in the global bullion market; however, the gains are capped due to elevated crude oil prices, which heightens the probability of a rate hike sooner than expected. Similarly, silver rates in India soared as MCX silver and spot silver gained by 1-2% on Monday. The odds of a rate hike have increased to 53% from earlier 47% in the upcoming US Federal Reserve's policy. At the global front, spot gold is up marginally, but spot silver outperformed with nearly 2% upside.
Meanwhile, crude oan earlieres gained by 2% to 3% and traded above $90 per barrel. Also, the US dollar is firmer near the 101 mark.

"Although gold is showing signs of short covering from lower levels, the broader trend remains volatile to weak until stronger global cues emerge. Market participants will continue to track developments in West Asia, the US dollar, and upcoming US economic data for fresh direction," said Jateen Trivedi, VP Research Analyst - Commodity and Currency, LKP Securities.
Gold Rates In India Today:
24 carat gold price surged by Rs 1,700 in 100 grams to Rs 14,34,600, while it was up by Rs 170 to Rs 1,43,460 in 10 grams. Also, 8 grams and 1 gram gold here edged higher by Rs 136 and Rs 17 to Rs 1,14,768 and Rs 14,346 respectively.
Furthermore, 22 carat gold price climbed by Rs 1,500 to Rs 13.15 lakh per 100 grams, is higher by Rs 150 to Rs 1,31,500 per 10 grams, gains by Rs 120 to Rs 1,05,200 per 8 grams and is up by Rs 15 to Rs 13,150.
Under 18 carat, 100 grams gold price gained by Rs 1,200 to Rs 10,75,900, while 10 grams gold jumped by Rs 120 to Rs 1,07,590, and 8 grams gold is higher by Rs 96 to Rs 86,072. Lastly, 1 gram gold is up by Rs 12 to Rs 10,759.
Gold Rates Weekly Outlook
"Geopolitical risks intensified after fresh Iranian strikes on US facilities in the Middle East, following continued US attacks on Iranian military targets and disruptions to Strait of Hormuz traffic. Fed officials also maintained a hawkish tone, with Lorie Logan backing another hike and Philip Jefferson signaling support for tighter policy if inflation stays firm," said Aamir Makda, Commodity & Currency Analyst, Technical Research at Choice Broking in a note.
While softer US inflation data ruled out a July hike, markets remain split on September.In India, Gold ETF inflows rebounded to Rs 3,443 crore in June, supported by price corrections and renewed investor interest, though gold imports declined for a second consecutive month, as per the analyst.
This week, markets will focus on key data includes PMIs, the CB leading index, regional Fed surveys, and the ECB decision for fresh clue on policy stance. Traders should keep an eye on key US economic data such as New home sales and Unemployment claims which are scheduled to be released this week.
Overall, the trend in Gold price is expected to be Moderately Bearish.
Silver Rates In India
Silver rates outperformed gold in physical terms as well. In India, the 999 purity or 1Kg silver soared by Rs 5,000 to Rs 2.35 lakh, while the 100 grams and 10 grams silver rates gained by Rs 500 and Rs 50 to Rs 23,500 and Rs 2,350. Also, 8 grams silver is up by Rs 40 to Rs 1,880 and 1 gram silver gains Rs 5 to Rs 235.
Silver Rates Weekly Outlook
"We are expecting Bearish trend in Silver and traders should look for the breakout of the immediate support level for the short opportunity," said Choice's analyst.
According to the analyst, softer US inflation data, including an unexpected decline in producer prices, provided limited support to silver. The US dollar strengthened, while safe-haven demand kept market sentiment cautious.
On the fundamentals, global silver ETF holdings rose sharply with net inflows exceeding 4 million ounces, and COMEX registered inventories climbed to their highest level since August 2025. Meanwhile, increasing efforts by solar manufacturers to reduce silver usage may modestly weaken industrial demand. However, Hawkish Fed expectations are likely to keep silver under pressure.
