Gold rates and silver rates in India crashed sharply on September 11, 2026, as investors awaited CPI inflation data of USA and India. MCX gold dropped nearly 1% to trade below Rs 1,51,600 per 10 grams mark, while MCX silver also declined 1% to struggle around Rs 2.32 lakh per 1 Kg level. This is due to global bullion market which is moving on a cautious note, coupled with rising crude oil prices and treasury yields.
Spot gold rates marginally higher but below $4,400 per ounce and are struggling around $4,330 per ounce. Spot silver has also crashed deeply to trade below $64 per ounce.
Meanwhile, crude oil prices corrected from their strong rally on Friday but traded at an elevated level. US WTI crude is above $102 per barrel and Brent crude is near $108 per barrel. Gasoline and natural gas prices are down as well.
The US will declare its CPI inflation data on Friday, which are the last inflation readings that US Federal Reserve will consider before announcing monetary policy outcomes next week.
Meanwhile, data released Thursday showed US producer prices accelerated in August as the Iran war pushed wholesale energy costs higher. Markets are now pricing in roughly a 71% probability of a 25-basis-point Fed rate increase next week, up from 61% before the PPI data. Gold also faced pressure from surging oil prices amid the escalating US-Iran conflict, fueling concerns over rising inflation. Also, Treasury yields jumped following lower-than-expected purchases by the US Treasury Department during its first expanded buyback operation. Non-interest-bearing assets such as gold tend to underperform when yields rise. Gold is on track to lose more than 2% this week, marking its third straight weekly decline, as per Trading Economics.

Live Gold Silver Rates Today: What Is Impacting Physical Gold And Silver Rates In India?
Gold rates in India crashed sharply by at least Rs 26,200 on September 11, 2026, while silver prices in India also plunged by up to Rs 10,000. All 24-carats, 22-carats, and 18-carats are under pressure. The reason is the sky-high oil prices that are racing toward the $110 mark, intensifying the energy crisis and inflationary pressures. In return, it also increases the odds of interest rate hikes this month. The much-awaited US CPI data will give further clarity in the upcoming US Federal Reserve's policy outcomes. For now, physical gold rates have tumbled, tracking both MCX gold and spot gold, which is struggling below the Rs 1.52 lakh mark and $4,350 per ounce. The outlook for precious metals is volatile, and its further movement will depend on CPI data.
