Gold Rates & Silver Rates Today (13-08-2026) LIVE: MCX Gold Falls Rs 500, Silver Price Drops Rs 1,300

Gold rates and silver rates in India traded under pressure in the early hours of August 13, 2026. MCX gold price plunged nearly Rs 500 to trade below Rs 1.55 lakh per 10 grams mark, while MCX silver dropped nearly Rs 1,300 to struggle around Rs 2.37 lakh per 1Kg mark. This is despite softer-than-expected US CPI inflation data for July, which nullifies the rate hike scenario from US Federal Reserve in the upcoming September policy.

Precious metals in India witnessed selloffs after spot gold erased its $4,400 mark and struggled with a cautious tone. Spot silver is also down to trade around $65 per ounce. The market is cautious, and they now predict a 40% chance for a 25 basis points rate hike in September policy, compared to the earlier 50% probability.

Gold and silver are trading lower despite the decline in crude oil prices. US WTI crude is struggling below $83 per barrel, and Brent crude is under $89 per barrel.

What is interesting to watch is that commodities across the board are under pressure.

Data released Wednesday showed US consumer inflation slowed for a second consecutive month to 3.4% in July, while rising just 0.1% from the previous month. Investors now await producer inflation data due later in the global day for further clues on the trajectory of price pressures. Markets now see around a 40% chance of a 25 basis point rate hike from the Fed in September, down from nearly 50% a day earlier. Gold also drew support from a pullback in oil prices as investors assessed the prospects of a deal to reopen the Strait of Hormuz. However, escalating rhetoric between the US and Iran amid deadlocked negotiations reduced the likelihood of an imminent agreement, as per Trading Economics.

Live Silver Rates Today: MCX Silver Price Drops Harder

Unlike gold, MCX silver falls harder by Rs 1,235 to trade around Rs 2,36,600 per 1Kg, which is near its intraday low of Rs 2,36,138 per 1Kg. However, in the early trade, MCX silver had touched an intraday high of Rs 2.38 lakh mark.

Live Gold Rates Today: MCX Gold Falls

MCX gold price traded lower by Rs 379 or 0.24% to around Rs 1,54,503 per 10 grams. In the opening bell, the bullion touched an intraday high of Rs 1,55,145 per 10 grams and also an intraday low of Rs 1,54,250 per 10 grams. Currently, the tone of MCX gold is cautiously volatile.
