Gold rates and silver rates in India gained momentum on July 21, 2026, on hopes of renegotiation between US and Iran for peace deal. Spot gold surged 2% to trade near $4,080 per ounce, while spot silver rallied 4% to trade near $59 per ounce. Following the similar trend, MCX gold price gained to trade near Rs 1.43 lakh and MCX silver surged to reach near Rs 2.25 lakh per 1Kg. Meanwhile, 24 carat, 22 carat and 18 carat gold prices zoomed by Rs 5,700 to Rs 7,600.

Investors assessed the potential resumption of peace negotiations between the US and Iran, which could ease energy-driven inflation risks and reduce concerns about interest rate hikes. Mediators worked on Monday to bring both sides toward a new ceasefire, while reports pointed to a possible 10-day truce. However, tensions remained elevated after President Donald Trump warned that Iran would be held responsible for the deaths of three US service members. Iran-backed Houthi militants also announced a maritime embargo against Saudi Arabia, raising concerns over energy shipments through the Red Sea, as per Trading Economics.

Meanwhile, crude oil prices dropped by 1% but still remain elevated. Brent Crude is down 1% to trade near $88 per barrel, while US WTI Crude Oil slipped by 0.5% to hold around $82 per barrel.

Also, US dollar stayed near 101 mark, with mild pullbacks on Tuesday after surge in three consecutive sessions. Additionally, US Treasury yields have surged sharply as market sees the odds of rate hikes from US Federal Reserve to rise to 55% from earlier 51%.
