Gold Rates & Silver Rates Today (21/9/2026) LIVE: MCX Gold Down Rs 900, Silver Crashes Rs 1,500 On Weak Demand
Gold rates and silver rates in India plunged sharply on Monday, with MCX gold price hitting an intraday low of Rs 1,53,031 per 10 grams and MCX silver crashing to hit an intraday low of Rs 2.40 lakh mark. Both recovered some losses but still trade in deep red. Currently, MCX gold and MCX silver are struggling to retain Rs 1.54 lakh per 10 grams and Rs 2.41 lakh per 10 grams.
This comes after global bullion market traded on a mixed note. Spot gold is down by 0.44% to struggle around $4,363 per ounce, on the contrary, spot silver gained marginally to hold above $66 per ounce.

In the early hours of Monday, crude oil prices crashed sharply. US WTI crude is down over 2.3% to trade around $98 per barrel, while Brent crude slipped by over 2.2% to trade around $101.6 per barrel. On the other hand, US 10-year benchmark treasury yield edged up 7 basis points to reclaim 5% as traders continue to repel around Fed's hawkish stance.
According to Trading Economics, the talks between American and Chinese leaders are expected to cover trade, artificial intelligence and disruptions in the Middle East. Trump also said he would "probably" be open to meeting Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly this week, where he may also hold discussions with other Persian Gulf leaders.
Meanwhile, Trading Economics data also added, investors are awaiting several appearances by Federal Reserve officials this week after the central bank raised rates last week for the first time in three years. On Sunday, Minneapolis Fed President Neel Kashkari said inflation remains too high and that price pressures have expanded beyond the initial oil-price shock linked to the Iran war.
This trading week, gold and silver rates in India are expected to be highly sensitive to movements in Treasury yields, the U.S. dollar, and inflation data, as well as further signals on the pace and timing of additional tightening. {live-blog}
