Gold rates and silver rates in India continued to crash further on October 23, 2026, due to weakness in the global bullion market. The crash in MCX silver has intensified by another 2.5% to hit an intraday low of Rs 1.95 lakh mark, while MCX gold also dropped 1% to reach near Rs 1,42,300 in the opening bell of Friday.
Meanwhile, spot gold price is near $4,015 per ounce, edging close to $4,000. Additionally, spot silver has dropped to their lowest level since November 2025 to below $54 per ounce.
Overnight, MCX silver price plunged below Rs 2 lakh for the first time since December 2025, while MCX gold steadied around Rs 1.43 lakh mark. At MCX, silver has taken the worst hit.
Precious metals have taken a worst hit due to elevated crude oil prices. US WTI crude oil surged by 1% to breach $100 per barrel mark and Brent crude rose near $114 per barrel.
Sentiment in precious metals have continued to be under pressure due to West Asia conflict that has sparked fresh buying in crude oil prices which keeps energy crisis and inflationary pressure high, and further indicates at higher US interest rates.
If US Federal Reserve hikes rates again next week, then investors appetite will reduce further on precious metals. At rate hike scenario, dollars and treasury yields become attractive, which reduces appeal for non-yielding assets like safe haven.

Live Silver Rates Today: Silver Rate Crashes Rs 1,90,000 From January Peak
Following the deep sell-offs, silver price has crashed by Rs 1.90 lakh or 46.34% from its peak level. Silver had touched an all-time high of Rs 4.10 lakh per 1Kg on January 29, 2026. Also, as per Trading Economics, silver remained under pressure from rising oil prices, which heightened inflation concerns and strengthened expectations that interest rates could stay elevated for longer. However, growing doubts about the sustainability of AI investments, a key driver of US economic growth, prompted markets to scale back expectations for further Federal Reserve rate hikes, potentially providing some support for precious metals.

Live Silver Rates Today: Why AI Fears Are The Reason For Decline In Silver?
Deepening of selloffs in technology and artificial intelligence stocks. Mega tech companies like Meta, SpaceX and Tesla have declared their earnings, and all three have raised their capital expenditure, reportedly targeted towards AI spending. Where gold is more safe-haven and purely monetary asset, silver is both a precious metal and an industry commodity -- and they both react differently to the same news.

Live Silver Rates Today: MCX Silver Price Predictions Today
MCX silver opened with a sharp gap down near ₹196,590 and is trading around ₹196,050, down 1.78%, extending its decline below the ₹200,000–₹202,000 support zone. This range now acts as immediate resistance, followed by ₹206,000–₹208,000. On the downside, support lies at ₹192,000–₹194,000, with the next support zone at ₹183,000–₹185,000. The RSI, near 24, is deep in oversold territory, while the MACD remains below its signal line, indicating that selling pressure has yet to ease. Domestic silver is tracking the decline in COMEX prices, with the rupee’s recent weakness offering only a partial offset. International spot silver fell more than 5% on Thursday, reflecting mounting pressure on the precious metal amid concerns over growth and the interest-rate outlook. Although the RSI signals deeply oversold conditions, this alone is insufficient to confirm a reversal. The near-term bias remains bearish, with a sustained move above ₹200,000–₹202,000 needed to stabilise prices. A decisive break below ₹192,000–₹194,000 could extend the decline towards ₹183,000–₹185,000: Ponmudi R, CEO of Enrich Money.

Live Gold Rates Today: Technical Outlook For MCX Gold
MCX gold opened with a gap down near ₹142,060 and is trading around ₹142,450, down 0.60%, recovering modestly from the opening low. The ₹143,000–₹143,700 range, which previously acted as support, now forms immediate resistance, followed by ₹145,300–₹146,000. On the downside, support lies at ₹140,000–₹141,000, with the next support zone at ₹137,500–₹138,300. The RSI, near 32, is approaching oversold territory, while the widening negative MACD histogram indicates persistent downside momentum. MCX gold is outperforming domestic silver and declining less than COMEX gold, as silver faces greater pressure from concerns over industrial demand and global growth. Meanwhile, the rupee’s 0.4% decline on Thursday to around 94.82 against the US dollar is providing a partial cushion to domestic gold prices by offsetting some of the weakness in international markets. The near-term bias remains bearish, with a sustained move above ₹143,000–₹143,700 needed to stabilise prices. A decisive break below ₹140,000–₹141,000 could expose gold to further losses towards ₹137,500–₹138,300: Ponmudi R, CEO of Enrich Money.
