Gold rates and silver rates in India on Saturday are likely to continue on the falling trend, as spot gold is now below $4,000 and spot silver has plunged below $54 per ounce. Meanwhile, crude oil prices continue to be elevated, with US WTI crude above $103 per barrel and Brent crude nearing $117 per barrel. Crude oil prices surged by 3-4% yesterday.
The market focus will now be shifted towards the upcoming US Federal Reserve's policy outcomes on October 28 where market is predicting that Kevin Warsh keep the rates unchanged.
Gold is at its lowest level since mid-July and recorded a weekly decline of 4%, while silver has touched their lowest level since November 2025.
Brent crude surged to a four-year high after Houthi attacks in Saudi Arabia heightened concerns over further energy supply disruptions. Meanwhile, recent US data showed consumer and producer inflation rising more than expected, largely driven by higher energy costs, reinforcing concerns over persistent inflationary pressures. Despite this, Federal Reserve officials are widely expected to leave interest rates unchanged at their October 27-28 meeting. Markets currently price in just a 10% chance of a rate hike next week, compared with odds of around 80% for December, according to CME's FedWatch Tool. Investors now await US PCE inflation data due October 29 for further clues on progress towards the Fed's 2% inflation target, as per Trading Economics.
The decline comes as a good deal to buyers who are looking to buy a piece of gold during the Diwali festival. The demand for yellow metal is high, usually during Dhanteras and Laxmi Pujan of Diwali, as they are seen as auspicious moment for investors.

Live Gold Silver Rates Today: What To Expect From Precious Metals Ahead?
Spot gold briefly slipped below $4,000 an ounce for the first time since late July despite US 10-year Treasury yields falling below 5%. The decline was driven by broad-based liquidation as investors unwound AI and technology positions and raised cash amid a sharp equity selloff. While lower yields remain supportive for bullion, periods of market stress often trigger short-term gold selling to meet liquidity needs, even as its longer-term safe-haven appeal remains intact. Gold has now rebounded to around $4,026, recovering most of the day's losses, though it held yesterday's 2.8% decline. Silver extended its losses to $53.5 following a sharp 6% drop in the prior session. Given its larger industrial demand component, silver remains more exposed to a deeper correction should risk sentiment deteriorate further. Both gold and silver have faced sustained selling pressure this month and may remain vulnerable despite markets pricing less than a 10% probability of an October rate hike as rising crude oil prices have revived inflation concerns and reinforced expectations of higher-for-longer U.S. interest rates: Kaynat Chainwala, AVP Commodity Research, Kotak Neo.
