Gold & Silver Rates (24-06-2026) LIVE: MCX Gold Crashes Rs 1,900 As Spot Gold Hits 7-Mnth Low, Silver Recovers

Gold rates and silver rates in India continued to crash sharply on June 24, 2026. In the early trading hours of Wednesday, MCX gold crashed nearly 2.5% to trade below Rs 1.44 lakh and MCX silver price nosedived by nearly 2% to trade below Rs 2.23 lakh per 1Kg. Both the precious metals have touched an intraday low of Rs 1,44,114 per 10 grams and Rs 2,21,658 per 1Kg respectively.

The Indian gold rates continued to fall due to extreme bearish tone in global bullion market. Spot gold has plunged below $4,100 and spot silver has dropped below $62 per ounce. Both are down by 1% to 2%.

This is after expectations of higher rates and hawkish US Fed policy which outweighed support from the interim US-Iran peace agreement.

At its latest policy meeting, Fed officials left interest rates unchanged but indicated increasing support for future rate hikes, while new Fed Chair Kevin Warsh reaffirmed his commitment to restoring price stability. Meanwhile, progress in negotiations between Washington and Tehran encouraged a rise in traffic through the Strait of Hormuz, easing pressure on global energy supplies and reducing inflation risks. Gold also faced additional selling pressure as a sharp decline in US technology stocks prompted investors to trim bullion positions to offset losses elsewhere in their portfolios, as per Trading Economics.
