Gold rates and silver rates in India are expected to jump sharply on July 27, 2026, due to sharp buying trend witnessed in the international bullion market after the US and Iran refrained from attacking each other and renegotiation buzz that pushed crude oil prices down steeply. In the early trade of Monday, spot gold gained by 1.31% to trade above $4,105 per ounce, while spot silver zoomed 3% to trade near $60 per ounce. On the other hand, US WTI Crude Oil futures dropped 6% to trade around $85 per barrel and Brent Crude also slipped by 6% to trade below $93 per barrel.
On the global front, spot gold has moved away from its nine-months low, while silver is recovering from its 8-months low.
Last week, MCX gold price closed at Rs 1,43,066 per 10 grams, while MCX silver price stood at Rs 2,22,301 per 1Kg. Both the metals were in green, however, witnessed a volatile to bearish trend throughout the week.
The US suspended its nearly two-week campaign of strikes against Iran beginning late Friday without an official announcement, while Tehran said it had ended its retaliatory strikes in response and held discussions with Oman regarding the Strait of Hormuz. Precious metals struggled in recent weeks amid escalating hostilities in the Middle East, with supply disruption spreading from the Strait of Hormuz to the Red Sea. Meanwhile, the Federal Reserve is widely expected to leave interest rates unchanged on Wednesday before raising them in September, although some market participants believe the central bank could move as early as this week's meeting in response to renewed inflationary pressures, as per Trading Economics.
