Gold & Silver Rates Today (27/10/2026) LIVE: Spot Gold At 3-Month Low, MCX Gold Falls, Silver Drops Rs 1,400

Gold rates and silver rates in India on October 27 traded cautiously as the global bullion market traded under pressure ahead of the FOMC meeting that is set to begin from Tuesday onwards. The Fed is expected to keep rates unchanged in its policy announcement on October 28, 2026.

MCX gold price traded below Rs 142,900 mark, and MCX silver price underperformed to trade below Rs 1.95 lakh mark. At MCX, cardamom, copper and zinc were top gainers on MCX, while natural gas, gold, silver, and crude oil price plunged up to 1% each.

At present, spot gold traded lower and struggled to hold around $4,010 per ounce, which is near its 3-months low. While spot silver price tumbled by 0.5% to trade below $53.80 per ounce. This is despite decline in crude oil prices. US WTI Crude Oil Price and Brent Crude plunged by 1% each to trade below $101 per barrel and $115 per barrel respectively.

The Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) will begin its 2-day policy meeting on October 27 and will announce its outcome on October 28, 2026. Overall, the market has priced in at least 3 rate hikes from the Fed over the next 12 months but after October 2026 policy.

Crude prices fell for a second consecutive session amid renewed diplomatic efforts to defuse US-Iran tensions, helping ease near-term inflation concerns. However, energy prices remained elevated, keeping inflation risks in focus and sustaining expectations of further monetary tightening, which could weigh on non-yielding gold. The Federal Reserve is widely expected to leave interest rates unchanged this week, with markets focused on policymakers' forward guidance for clues about the rate outlook. Markets are pricing in a roughly 82% chance of a rate hike in December, according to the CME FedWatch Tool. Investors will also watch upcoming US GDP and PCE price index data for further insight into the economic outlook and the Fed's policy path, as per Trading Economics.
